About Imam Khomeini Airport

Imam Khomeini Airport is built on a land of 14 hectares. The large spaces around the airport, a vast runway, and parking lots with a large capacity confirm this significant area. With the completion of the construction of phase one, Imam Khomeini Airport was put into operation; Phase one can transport 6 million and 500 thousand passengers and 120 thousand tons of cargo per year. Step two of the airport is correspondingly under construction. Salam Terminal and Iranshahr Terminal of Imam Khomeini Airport are also under construction.

The runway of Imam airport is 4200 meters long, and the width of this runway is 45 meters. In addition, two taxis have been planned for this band. One of these two taxiways is an emergency runway, which is 4200 meters long and 45 meters wide. Another taxi has been chosen for communication and access to places such as the airplane repair hangar, the airplane engine testing place, and the cargo terminal; The length of this taxi is 9700 meters, and its width is 30 meters.

The terminal area of Imam Khomeini Airport reaches more than 78,000 square meters. The same terminal is used for incoming flights of Imam airport and outgoing flights of Imam airport.

History of Imam Khomeini Airport

Imam Khomeini International Airport started its operation in 2005, and international flights from/to Tehran were transferred to this airport. Given its peculiar part and function in the national transportation system and its high profitability, and also under strategies targeting to boost non-aviation revenues and improve Iran’s standing in aviation/logistic/transfer of cargoes and passengers, Imam Khomeini International Airport was turned into Imam Khomeini Airport City (IKAC) in 2003 by fifth National Developmental Program to operate over an area of 14000 hectares. Under a decision by the Board of Ministers and enactment of articles of association in 2013, it became a company affiliated with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Planning in December 2015. Also, IKAC Comprehensive Plan, which includes the preplanned strategies such as the strategy to become the first cargo hub and second passenger hub in the Middle East, taking aviation and logistic considerations into account, was ratified by the general assembly of IKAC and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Planning on 05 June 2018 to be a 30-year developmental plan.

Terminals of Imam Khomeini Airport

Terminal 1

Terminal number one is the first active terminal of Imam airport, and most of the airport’s flights take place through it. More than 9 million people travel through this terminal every year. This is the terminal for the incoming flights of Imam Airport.

Terminal 2 (Salam Terminal)

Salam Terminal, Terminal 2 of Imam Khomeini Airport and one of the most modern airport terminals in the Middle East, was opened in 1998. The capacity of this terminal is reported to be 5 million people per year, and this terminal is considered to be the first intelligent air terminal in Iran, designed and built 100% by Iranian engineers and designers. First, this terminal was supposed to be used for Hajj flights, but now it is used for all flights. The area of this terminal is 55 thousand square meters and has three floors.

Terminal 3 (Iranshahr Terminal)

In line with the 30-year development plan of the Imam Khomeini Airport Company, the construction of the Iranshahr terminal is on the agenda. With this terminal’s construction, Imam Airport’s capacity will increase to 30 million people. The development of this terminal will be done by a Dutch company called Netherlands Airport Consultants. This terminal is currently in the research phase. After the completion of this terminal, Terminal 1 will be dedicated to domestic flights.

The best accommodation option for foreign travelers

If you are traveling to Iran, you may have doubts about staying in a hotel or a furnished apartment.

Which is better? There are many factors to determine the right option for you, the most important of which are listed below:

A serviced apartment is a completely furnished apartment available for short or long-term stays. There are some differences between serviced apartments and hotels, and understanding these differences will help you decide which is appropriate for your upcoming travel. Here are some differences between serviced apartments and hotels.

1.list

Hotel rooms can be small, particularly in cramped cities like Tehran. Oversized suites may be available, but they come at a premium. On the other hand, a serviced apartment is a normal-sized studio, one, two, or three-bedroom flat offering 30-50% more space than a standard hotel room. You have much more room to work, rest, spread out, and live.

2.Kitchen

It isn’t usual for a hotel room to include a kitchen; even if it does, it tends to be small and needs to be fitted with cooking requirements. A serviced apartment will have a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to prepare homemade meals and store food and drinks in the refrigerator. You can eat healthier and save money on eating, too!

3. Furniture and equipment

Many hotel rooms deliver little more than a bed and a bath; a dresser, closet, desk, or small couch may be formed. Furnished apartments in Tehran are complete services with all the typical furniture you’d find in a home. They’re also fully supplied with everything you need to work, cook and live, from a desk to pots and pans to laundry baskets. Many furnished apartments in Tehran even have an in-unit washer/dryer.

4. Typical length of stay

Except for extended-stay hotels, many hotels are meant for shorter stays. A furnished apartment is geared toward stays of a month or more extended. Depending on local laws and rules, shorter stays of a week or more may be available. It is only comfortable to stay in a hotel for an extended period, particularly with a kitchen, convenient laundry facilities, or adequate area. Furnished apartments offer all the comforts and necessities of a home.

5. Cost differences

Cost differences between furnished apartments and hotels emerge when the length of stay is assumed. Staying in a hotel for weeks can be expensive, particularly with the reliance on dining out or room service rather than preparing your meals. A furnished apartment will save you some serious bucks compared to the alternative, especially on long-term stays. Generally, furnished apartment rates are 30-50% less than typical hotels.

You may also profit from tax savings by staying in a furnished apartment for an extended period. This can differ widely by the municipality and your usual length of stay.

6. Extras

The amenities provided at hotels and furnished apartments can differ. Amenities a hotel has that a furnished apartment may lack include room service, a mini bar, an on-site restaurant and bar, a spa, and a continental breakfast. Depending on the building, furnished apartments may have amenities like a pool, wellness center, terrace, roof terrace, attended lobby, laundry facilities, and resident lounges. Many of them are pet-friendly, also! Lastly, WiFi is almost always included in a furnished apartment’s cost, while many hotels still charge extra.

7. Typical locations

Hotels tend to be located in centralized and suitable areas near important attractions or airports, while furnished apartments can be found in nearly any residential area within a city. They can also be seen nearly anywhere in the world with apartments.

This airport also has a hotel for foreign travelers to stay. Novotel Tehran Hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in Tehran near Imam Khomeini Airport. This hotel welcomes travelers who have come to Tehran from other cities to take their foreign flights. Travelers can stay in this hotel instead of going inside the city.

Ramis Tehran Hotel, formerly known as “Ibis,” was built on the south side of Imam Airport and is an ideal choice for passengers whose flight is in the middle of the night or early in the morning. These five-star and luxurious hotels provide comfortable rooms, complete amenities, a sauna, swimming pool, massage, restaurant, and coffee shop.

From the points mentioned above, a furnished apartment has more advantages in terms of comfort, ease of use, possibility, and price. It is better to stay in a hotel. To book all types of furnished apartments in Tehran, contact our experts at Fababa right now.
